How much simmering oil should I use in my diffuser?

Start by adding a few drops of simmering oil to the water in your diffuser. Add more or less oil until you reach your desired fragrance strength. Replace the water and oil as needed, and clean your diffuser with soap and water after use.

Note: Only use simmering oil in diffusers that are designed to accept fragrance oils in the water reservoir.

How much simmering oil should I use in my warmer?

Coat the bottom of your warming dish with simmering oil and begin heating. If the fragrance is too strong, simply use less oil or dilute it with water. You can easily control the strength of the fragrance by adjusting the amount of oil you use.

Replace the oil and water as needed, and clean your warming dish with soap and water after use.

Does my warming dish need to be ceramic?

No. Yellow House Simmering Oils can also be used in glass or unpainted metal warming dishes.

Can I use simmering oil in a warmer heated by a tea light?

Yes. As long as the tea light warmer becomes hot enough to melt wax melts or wax tarts, it will also work well with Yellow House Simmering Oils.

How long does the fragrance last?

You can expect approximately 25 hours of fragrance per ounce of simmering oil under normal use.

Yellow House Simmering Oils contain 40% premium-grade fragrance and essential oils, providing a rich, long-lasting scent. Keep in mind that some fragrances are naturally stronger than others.

My simmering oil doesn't seem to last very long. Why?

If your oil seems to be evaporating quickly, your warmer may be operating at too high of a temperature.

Try these tips:

  • Use a lower-wattage bulb if your warmer is heated by a light bulb.
  • Plug your warmer into a timer instead of leaving it on continuously.
  • Replace older warmers if they begin heating hotter than intended, as heating elements can become less consistent over time.

Can I use Yellow House Simmering Oil in a reed diffuser?

No. Reed diffusers require a different type of carrier oil that allows the fragrance to travel up the reeds. Yellow House Simmering Oils are not formulated for use in reed diffusers.
